Torrey Pines Elementary School (TPES) is located high on a bluff, overlooking the Pacific Ocean in La Jolla, near the University of California, San Diego. Our teachers and staff members are committed to providing students with the academic, social and emotional skills necessary to form a strong foundation for future school endeavors. We have been designated a California Gold Ribbon Distinguished School by the California Department of Education multiple times, TPES is the only school in San Diego Unified School District to receive the 2019 National Blue Ribbon School Award.   • All resident children turning 4 by September 1st will be eligible for enrollment in Universal Transitional Kindergarten. 
    • While parents are welcome to apply for CHOICE to UTK, we anticipate that seats will be limited.  Parents are urged to pre-enroll in the school of residence IN ADDITION to applying for CHOICE, for the best chance at an offer of enrollment in the preferred school(s).
