Third Grade

Third Grade Teachers

Martha Bagaporo
I knew that I wanted to be a teacher as a fourth grader, because of my amazing teacher, Mrs. Bloom. After finishing my degree in English Literature at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada (also the setting of my all time favorite book series, Anne of Green Gables), I completed my Teaching Credential and Master's Degree at San Diego State University. I have been teaching for 25 years now, and value building relationships and a positive classroom community. When I'm not teaching, I love to read, try out recipes for plant-based cooking, hike, walk our dogs, and spend time with family and friends.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was little.  My elementary school teachers showed me a love for learning and teaching.  I received my Teaching Credential and my Master’s Degree from the University of San Diego. I have twenty years of teaching experience in Illinois and California.  I've been teaching at Torrey Pines Elementary since 2006. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

As an educator at TPES, I am given the opportunity to teach students in an interactive and engaging learning environment and to work alongside a collaborative team of educators and families.  I provide a kind, positive, and enriched classroom that challenges students each and every day.  Making a difference, motivating students, embracing change, and spreading positivity is what it means to be a teacher at TPES.

This is my 28th year of teaching, all at Torrey Pines Elementary. I enjoy working with future doctors, musicians, engineers, and leaders. When not teaching, can probably be found surfing, paddling canoes and kayaks, or traveling. Oftentimes I combine these things.

I knew that I wanted to be a teacher as early as elementary school, because I always loved going to school and learning. After finishing my degree in Public Relations at the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!), I completed my Teaching Credential and Master's Degree at National University. I have been teaching for 19 years now, and value building relationships and a positive classroom community. One of my favorite things about being a teacher is hearing from former students and their families. When I'm not teaching, I love to read, cook and bake, hike, watch sports , and spend time with family and friends.
